IQOS, the innovative heated tobacco product of Philip Morris International, has received a GOOD DESIGN® Award for its cutting-edge technology and sleek, customer-centric design.
Innovation, science, and technology are central to PMI’s efforts to provide adult smokers with better, science-based alternatives to cigarettes. The innovative IQOS device, designed in collaboration with consultants Design Partners, was a winner in the Electronics category of the Global Awards Program for Design Excellence and Design Innovation.
The GOOD DESIGN® constitute a prestigious awards program and have been bestowed by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies. This annual award program, with a history since 1950 in design excellence, recognizes the most innovative industrial, product and graphic designs.
IQOS features a slim, light design with high-quality finishes and a distinct shape. The combination of sleek metallic tones and neutral colors are characteristic design features, which give IQOS an aesthetically pleasing feeling that integrates elegantly in the everyday life of a legal aged smoker. IQOS has the cutting-edge technology HeatControl™ and a sophisticated firmware. A unique heating blade, containing gold and platinum, ensures that tobacco is heated and not burnt, and as a result, IQOS does not produce smoke.
